Join the Bridging Programme to Ensure a Successful Nursing Career in Australia

Nursing is a noble profession. It also offers a future-proof career. Nurses are highly respected and appreciated everywhere in the world. In Australia, nurses have always been in good demands. There are plenty of work opportunities for both local and overseas nurses in Australia.

Some recent data show that the demand for qualified nurses is likely to go up significantly in coming years. A study conducted by Australia’s Future Health Workforce exhibits that around 85000 and 123,000 nurses will be required by the Australian healthcare settings by 2025 and 2030, respectively.

If you’re an overseas-qualified nurse and looking to pursue a nursing career in Australia, you will need to get registered with AHPRA. Later, you’ll be assessed by the ANMC (Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council) to meet the required standards.

A number of times have we discussed Australia student visa requirements in our previous pieces, but this time, we will discuss some exciting visa options available for overseas nurses to work in Australia.

Working Holiday Visa

If you want to enjoy a holiday and work simultaneously in the land down under, then this visa will enable you to stay in Australia for around one year (12 months). During this period, you can work a nurse for not more than three months.

Skilled Independent Visa

In case you don’t have a sponsor, you can apply for Skilled Independent Visa. However, you will have to submit an expression of interest (EOI) and get a letter of invitation from the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) to apply for this visa.

Employer Nomination Scheme

This visa is essentially designed for Australian employers who desire to fill the skill gap of their businesses through sponsoring an overseas skilled worker.

Understanding the Bridging Programme for Overseas Nurses

The Bridging Programme for Nurses in Australia is also known as the IRON program. The 12-week program provides overseas-qualified nurses with skills and knowledge for practising safely in the Australian healthcare settings.

The program is tailored to attract international nurses and address the abovementioned issue of shortage of nurses in Australia. Upon the completion of the IRON program, you’ll be able to work anywhere in Australia in a diverse range of healthcare settings, such as general practices, hospitals, prisons, schools, homes, and community settings.

Role of Education Consultants

Studying or pursuing a career overseas is not an easy task and you need information on different aspects. You can access the required information via the internet, but the internet won’t suggest you a career pathway. Here is where you need an education consultant.

An expert education consultant will let you know about the Australian scholarships for international students, visa process, education providers and more in detail. AECC Global is a reputed education agency in Indonesia which helps you create a professional pathway to ensure success in your chosen field.
